What needs to be done?
Due to Afghanistan being a landlocked country and 4 decades of war has left most of the country’s population deprived from readily available clean drinking water. What this means is that most of the population is left to travel long distances just to get clean water for their day to day needs. To combat this AMWO with the help of its donors drill wells, install water pumps on incomplete water wells that communities have not been able to finish due to financial restraints and provide temporary water tankers that hold on average 10,000 litres of clean drinking water.
We install water pumps on incomplete water wells that communities have not been able to complete due to financial restraints. To make the hard life of those that have to travel to another community well for their clean water slightly easier by installing a hand water pump. It costs AMWO £250
The AMWO team will already have a database of incomplete water wells, one will be allocated and construction will begin on the water well. It will be completed within 2 – 4 weeks.
